Here's an excerpt from e3Partners campaign leader Sam Ingrassia's Campaigner's Notebook Introduction:
"The mission is not based upon our eloquence, nor our expertise, nor our experience - it is all about the presence, sufficiency and empowered gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a blessed opportunity to preach the gospel in a country that is still finding the way to freedom from the bondage of Communism. We have the humble privilege to work with our brothers and sisters in Christ, with Romanian churches who are seeking to impact their country and their generation! Is this 'deep water'? Yes. Has Christ called us? Yes. Will He go with us? Yes. Do we have a life changing and eternal message? Yes. Is Christ building His church? Yes. Is God advancing His kingdom? Yes!"
As you pray for us this week, keep these things in mind:
1. The burden of a tragic past still lies heavily upon Romania. With freedom has come wealth for a few, but grinding poverty for the majority. Pray that this disastrous legacy might be replaced by one of peace and righteousness.
2. Religious freedom is a treasured, but a threatened gain. Millions of Romanians have grown up as "Christians," but with no meaningful exposure to the gospel - only 2 to 4 percent of Orthodox believers take their faith very seriously. Pray that there may be full freedom for the proclamation of the gospel.
3. The Romanian Church is awakening to its responsibility to play its part in the Great Commission. It is also beginning to address the great social needs surrounding it. Pray for the removal of every barrier to the full flowering of an indigenous missions movement.
