Day Three in the Field

Biled is a village about 35 kilometers from Timisoara. The sign on the church reads, "Biscerica Baptista Betel Biled." The pastor of the church has been inviting the mayor of the village, who has a Bible on his desk but is most likely Orthodox, to a Bible study at his church.

Bill Patterson (shown here - click picture to enlarge) was with the small group that has been returning here since Monday, and will return again tomorrow. The evening service tonight ran a total of 110 people - children included ... scores of them. Choruses are sung in Romanian, of course. But the song is familiar so you can sing along in English - easier said than done when 98 percent of the room is singing loudly in Romanian. The English words seem to mysteriously disappear from your memory unless you're really concentrating.

P.S. The apricots in the picture were "Oh, my gosh" delicious!
