These days in the field are long. That's not to complain, but merely inform. The work we're doing does sometimes produce immediate fruit. But most often, we are confronted with the bitter reality of living in a post-Communism country, understanding that the work being done are seeds being planted.
This morning, an ominous rain threatened our ability to effectively spend our last day in the field. We were pleasantly blessed instead with fast-moving clouds that broke, ushering in a cool breeze throughout the day. It was welcome relief to the hot, humid Romanian summer.
A Romanian pastor was recently asked what the biggest mistake the Americans make when they come over on a short-term mission trip. "Making promises they don't keep," was the quick reply. Since 1989, many religious organizations have come and gone through this region, promising all kinds of assistance. "The ones who are still here after 15 years are the ones we know mean business." We are honored to be involved with e3 Partners, who have been established here in Romania, and working diligently to advance His Kingdom, since 1991.
